Re: Any New Advances Please Read & Help
<r>Hi What an ordeal, I admire your courage.<br/> I have several avulsed nerves and need meds to help manage the pain, but don't share your problem of sweating due to drugs. However, I checked with a web site called <URL url="http://www.peoplespharmacy.com">www.peoplespharmacy.com</URL>. It's not a ...

who did your amputation?
<t>3 1/2 years post-accident, I've decided to have my completely flail arm amputated. I was hoping that I could get a prosthesis that would at least allow me to hold a light object, but the prosthesitist (is that a word?) that adapted a Wilmer sling for me says my shoulder ought to be stabilized (th...

Re: Question for the readers
<t>My arm was/is subluxed, I don't know how that differs from dislocation. And no, it never recovered.<br/> I did hire a lawyer, even though the bus company accepted responsibility for my injuries from the very beginning. The matter was always between me and the insurance companies who carried their...

Re: Question for the readers
<t>I was injured in a pedestrian vs. bus accident in Sept., 2001, and have no memories of the first 12 hours or so after the collision. However, both my husband and a nurse saw me move my fingers/hand when asked to do so in the ER.<br/> After being transported from Hilo to Oahu by plane and ambulanc...

Re: Curling Fingers
My solution is really low-tech. C-5 thru T-1 avulsed, no function or feeling, just to avoid the claw look, I tape my fingers as flat as I can make them to a small piece of foam core (material used to back photos/art work, available at craft and art supply stores) at night.

Re: SHOULD I BE PLEASED
<t>Hi Dee It's totally overwhelming sometimes, isn't it?<br/> For what it's worth, I was alarmed when one of my x-rays also showed degenerative disc disease, but my family doc said most people develop it in middle age, so not to worry. <br/> And according to my PT, the back pain I developed was caus...

Re: BOTOX--help--I don't get it!!!
<t>Hi Ronin I get 7 injections of botox in my neck and upper back every 4 months, but it's not for bpi; it's for the torticolis I also suffered from the accident.<br/> My neck is twisted downward and to the left. This is how I was positioned the moment I was hit by the bus (I was turning around to s...

Re: Bextra update
<t>It does seem like a miracle, Gayle, and I hope it turns out you are able to give it a try. If a skin prick test can show whether or not a person is allergic to wheat or ragweed or whatever, it seems like they should be able to test for sulpher, too. I just happen to have an appointment with my al...

Re: Bextra update
Oops, the web site address is www.painfoundation.org. I seem to remember they give some info on $$$, but don't know if it's what you're looking for, Ronin. It's worth a look, I think.

Re: Bextra update
Hi Ronin I haven't noticed any problems at all; the 2 you mention are certainly hard to overlook!
I do wish you luck finding a funding source for your trip, etc. Was the www.pain.org any help at all?
