Arm Appearance After Caps Splint Removal
<t>Okay, I was told by another Mom that I should be upset by how my daughter's arm looked after we removed the caps splint today and I am. What I was wondering is how long did it take for other kids' arms to hang better after the splint was removed. My daughter's arm is still externally rotated and ...

Re: NMES
We also use the BMR NT2000 NMES unit for our daughter. She tolerates it really well. Our PT said that model is the gentlest to use.

Re: Post Surgical Contemplation - What Worked What Didn't
<t>Francine,<br/> <br/> I started laughing as I read your post. I could definitely see Dr. Nath "rolling his eyes" at your requests!!! But who knows our kids better than ourselves. I am so glad that you found things to make Maia's surgery less stressful on her and therefore less stressful on you. Ke...

Re: I have a surgery question..
<t>Christy,<br/> <br/> My daughter's wrist is pretty weak too. She holds it in the neutral position most of the time, but when she picks up anything larger than a small toy the wrist drops down. We have been doing NMES with BMR NT2000 on various muscles, one of them being on her forearm to work the ...

Re: Joe Joe Is Home
Tammie,
So glad that everything went well with Joe Joe's surgery. It is great that you were able to finally meet the wonderful families that you have "met" on the boards.

Francine,
So glad that you are home and that things went well considering all that Maia went through. Take care. See you, Lou, and Maia at camp!

We're Home!
<t>We got home last night from Texas. Our daughter handled the caps surgery really well. We had the "Happy Cocktail" before surgery, had the IV put in her foot so she could still suck her thumb, and took lots of The Wiggles videos to entertain her during the splinting process. Other than a meltdown ...

Caps Splinting
Does the therapist also make a splint for the child's favorite doll like they do for the mod quad?

Questions Re: Caps Surgery
<t>(I apologize in advance because I know that people have probably asked all these questions in the past but right now my head is spinning and I don't have the time to search through prior posts to look for the info.) As far as the splint, is the arm placed palm up, sideways, or facing down? I know...
