Thank you all

<t>I've been meaning to post here for the past five months. Faith is 14 months old now and has been doing very well. Her specialist believes that by 18 months she will have 90% to 100% recovery from her injury. She still has ot and pt twice a week because she has some balance and coordination proble...

Re: 2nd elbow subluxation in 3 months - non bpi arm

<t>Hi Sally<br/> Is this "nursemaid's elbow"? Is your son in the 2 to 3 year old range? Children are very prone to this during the toddler/preschool years. My daughter (non-bpi daughter) had this 3 times within 6 months - one trip to the emergency room and I fixed it the 2nd and 3rd time. If this is...

Karen Hillyer re: phrenic nerve

<t>Hi Karen I read your post about your son and his trouble with liquids. What happened with his phrenic nerve? (I know that it is located very close to bp nerves and can be "pinched" with bpi injuries) Faith had a very hard time with breast milk/bottle (and had very poor sucking reflex) and lost we...

Re: sensory stimulation by use of vibrator

Hi there. Faith did not have surgery, but her OT and PT have been using vibrating objects for 2 months and she gravitates towards things that "buzz" in her hand now - that's when she has the firmest grip. Michelle

Suggestions? Transition with new therapists

<t>Hi there. EI just kicked in this past week and Faith has 3 new therapists. She's just starting to have stranger anxiety (7 1/2 months old) and she is just beside herself. I thought that having therapy at home might make it easier on her, but having people who she doesn't know prompting her to do ...

Re: Article

<t>I just had to respond to a couple of things here: Natalie, I can't believe that a jury bought that defense and I feel awful for you. As other posters added, if this could happen in utero, wouldn't it have to happen much more frequently? And TCON, why on God's green earth did a doctor have you pus...

Re: Help with understanding what is next on our long journey

<r>Hi Layne If you would like some general info on BPI, you can check out this online "lecture" with Dr. Andrew Price, a BPI specialist in NY. I found it very helpful in understanding what had happened. <URL url="http://www.pediatric-orthopedics.com/Treatments/Brachial_Plexus/BrachialLink/Brachial_L...

Re: Back From NY Gathering

<r>Hi all. I couldn't make it to the museum after all. My older daughter started running a fever on Friday night. But staying home was worth it - Faith held a teething biscuit to her mouth on her own for a few seconds for the first time on Saturday afternoon! I was the happiest mommy in all the land...
