Re: ACR w/ Dr. Kozin
<t>I stayed at the Ronald McDonald house the night before & the night after surgery. My mom came with me and stayed there the night of surgery, while I stayed at the hospital on a cot with my son. I think only 1 person is allowed to stay the night at the hospital. <br/> He learned to get around ...

Re: ACR w/ Dr. Kozin
<t>It's cold there in December. Bring a winter coat. <br/> My son had that surgery with Dr. Kozin last year in October. The actualy surgery is pretty quick. My son was only 11 months when he had the surgery, he slept most of the day once he came out of surgery. I stayed there with him, he shared a r...

Re: Hotels in Phillly
<t>We usually stay at the Ronald McDonald house, it's only 10/night. They do have a requirement that you check in by 7 pm. I've also stayed at Aloft, it's close to the airport, about 15-20 minutes to the hospital depending on traffic. That place was OK, nice place, but not bath tub for the kids. Mor...

Re: shriner hospital in Houston
I think Dr Kozin in Philly is their only BPI specialist. But your best bet is to just call the hospital to find out.

Re: Nerve Surgery not recommended, HELP!
<t>I also would recommend getting a second opinion as soon as possible. If you call Dr Kozin, he can usually get you in pretty quick. I don't think I'd want to rely on a video eval for this with such a short timeframe left to get the grafts done if needed. <br/> My son didn't have a nerve graft, he ...

Re: nerve transfer
<t>My son had what they call ACR surgery. His shoulder was coming out of the socket, it's arthoscopic shoulder reduction. The surgery was a major success, it's just amazing how much function my son got from it. He was 11 months old when he had his first surgery. Thankfully, he didn't need to have th...

<t>Kristin, <br/> <br/> Have you considered consulting with any of the other specialists besides Nath? We considered him and also realy liked him, but ended up going with Kozin, he's also great. If insurance is an issue, I hear Nath is very expensive. Dr Kozin is at Shriners in Philly, so you only h...

Re: Surgery??
<t>My son had that surgery with Dr Kozin in October. It was so worth it, try to relax, it's a lot to go through, but it's just amazing how much more his arm can do. He was 11 months when he had it done. He just has 2 little tiny scars on his shoulder, one on the front and one on the back. I can emai...

Re: Discounted/Free Airfare?
<t>We used Northwest for one of our trips. They have a program that covered round trip airfare for my son and 1 parent. I believe the program is called kid care. If you look at Dr. Nath's website he has a link that lists many programs that can help with the airfare. That's where I found the Northwes...
