I'm new to this board and I have Erb's Palsy in my right arm. I am 31 years old. Although the injury never stopped me from doing anything in my life, it definitely impacted the way I viewed myself. I have always tried to hide the fact that I have a hanidcap and most people don't know unless I tell them. I agree with most everything that was posted and I just had a big cry and I am so blessed to have found this community of people who understand.

When I read your comments I do the same "cross my arms", but its so hard to meet people because in my culture (mexican) shaking hands is part of respect.

Reading everyone's posts has helped me. I now know that other people are going thru what I live everyday.

VERY DEFINITELY!...I know I would be a totally different person if I had been validated and given creedance instead of being shunned in the "olden days".

Thank you to the monitors who bumped this topic up ! We need to be reminded how important sharing with others is healing us too. I only started healing and stopped hiding in 2004 when i found UBPN.
