Kath - we too just always call it the 'left arm'. If Brittney says her arm got hurt or she fell and hurt herself or whatever - I always ask which arm she hurt and if she says "left" and I know it is her injured arm. She was the only one year old around who knew her left from her right in play groups - she used to get so bossy at playgroups demanding that all of the other kids give BOTH arms a turn at playing. She was a vocal little thing and always just called her arm "the left arm".

I always called mine "the bad arm", (LOBPI), and I also now have a name for my left leg (since I was paralyzed by a virus last year, not related to the Erb's, just bad luck!) I called it "dead wood" because it wouldn't move and my friend nicknamed it"woodsey". To this day they still call it that, even though it now has some movement. I think it's funny and it lightens the mood.

my cousin's two year old calls my 3 month old daughter's right arm Baby Bop because my daughter seems to bop herself in the face with that arm whenever she tries to use it.

Darn Barney.

Hi all. This is my first time posting but I have been reading all night. I couldn't help but respond to the name thing. I refer to my arm as "the bad arm" when I'm serious and "Gimpy" when I'm joking around. It's funny. I've been reading these posts all night (I work nights) and the similarities with BPI people are so much alike. I've always felt like the odd person or different because of my arm. It's nice to know there are others out there like me and I'm not so different after all.

Are you going to teach us all how to do them at camp?

Will I still get an A from you even if I bend my arm and clap a bit it front....

I found out something great a pronated hand obpi can do..

My granddaughter taught me how to clap like a seal this past weekend... The two four year old granddaughters think I am great at it... LOL... unlike my Patty Cake.

Well you know how we worked out the canoeing last time, with a righty and a lefty, so I can see us doing jumping jacks the same way. We can pair off. Can you picture it?
