Hello Rob I too am having great trouble finding a sling that I can use. When I am at the gym or running I tie my arm to my Weight belt. I would be very interested in it. Even if I could get to know what it was like I may be able to make it myself. Thanks Derek

numbers crunched again

Crunched them numbers again, of the 53 tbpi who posted in this thread (there are about another ten who posted elsewhere but not in this thread, so I didn't count them)the figures break down
like this....

Motorcycles male 24 female 3
Iatropathic(physician caused) male 2 female 4
Car accident male 2 female 4
Tree falling male 2
Airbag female 1
Taxi hitting pedestrian male 1
Sign hitting pedestrian female 1
Wall hitting pedestrian female 1
Bus accident female 1
Fall female 1
Climbing accident male 1
Snowmobile male 1
Train hitting pedestrian female 1
Waterski accident female 1
Playground accident male 1
No cause given male 1

Total male 36 female 17

24 posters were from the USA
10 from England
1 from Northern Ireland
1 from Scotland
1 from Isle of Man
3 Canadians
2 New Zealanders
1 from Jordan
1 from Italy
1 from Portugal
1 from South Africa
and 7 did not give a location. I know the feeling guys.

Only 32 said whether left or right arm was affected, of those, 17 had ltbpi, 14 had rtbpi and one had bilateral involvement.

The longest tbpi who posted was Bill with 48 years tbpi, he probably also qualifies as the youngest to get his bpi, aged 6.

Interesting stuff....who'd have thought one of the 2nd highest causes would be surgery/medics....I see 2 more iatropathic bpi have posted on the boards since then. Who'd have thought that more than half the posters were from outside the USA? Who'd have thought anyone could be bored enough to work all this out? :0)
Anyway, keep em coming......I know there are more of you out there....

ps Karlos, you owe Liz a Rubix cube as 100th poster..

Hi Folks,

I've been off and on (computer modem fried recently...)
My partner Kevin is right tbpi, motorcycle accident August 11, 2001. Kevin has been helped tremendously by this forum (though yet to post; hard to type--other arm
not fully functional). Me too. Surgery is imminent.
We'll keep you posted. Thank you all for support.

All the best,
Mary
