Hi Marymom, I live in ft.lauderdale. I was 27 yrs old before surgery.

Isn't the splint being too high what caused Kaylinda(remember her, she lives near me, although I haven't spoke to her in forever), her son Kyle had modquad about 1 1/2yrs ago at age 14 and had trouble(paralyzed hand, pain) because the splinting was to high...is it a different splinting protocol for older patients? Just a thought...Blake's therapist says that Kyle is starting to have improvement, thank goodness!(my husband takes Blake to therapy now, so I don't get to see Kaylinda anymore)

To Blakesmom--Thanks for the response. Your information about Kaylinda/Kyle is correct. I spoke with her a few times via email over the summer. Her son & I had too many post-op similarities! We were amazed. She was truly a great source of encouragement for my situation. I also wonder how his recovery is going...

I have a son who is three and half that has a left OBPI. We used to live in Ft. Lauderdale, but now moved to Texas. Which school do you teach at? We lived in Plantation. Boy, do I miss Florida. I think suing might be diffucult especially since it was outside the US. Florida Law is 2 years from injury or for children until age 18. You probably would have to find out what Jamiaca law is. Where do you do your therapy at? I think it is great that you are a teacher. My 3 year old has had primary, mod quad, and just now had bicept lengthening. Hopefully, that is it for him. He too says he wants to be a teacher. I am sure that could change but at 3 sounds like a good idea for him. Well,best of luck with your therapy.

In Oklahoma you have 2 years to file your claim. Get an attortney immediately. Insurance companies are sneaky. Watch what you sign you name to. This might sound funny, but get one of those T.V. attorneys. Most attorneys seem to focus on getting people out of trouble instead of accidents. T.V. attorneys will fight for every $.
