pitocin with epidural seems to be a bad idea. The threshold of two hours pushing is a hospital convenience guideline, it has NO basis in fact. It is absolutely normal for the pushing stage to stall or stop, and take several hours.

I was induced with cervidil gel and went extremely fast. I was sent home after telling nurses, I think I am in labour (3rd child). They sent me home anyway and was back in an hour with constant contractions and no break in between. I am now wondering if that is what they call hypercontracting which apparently is not good for baby. Anyways, Taylor came very quick, with severe bruising (black eyes) and a broken collarbone and now BPI that has been diagnosed (at 6 months).
Dawn.

My kids doesn't have a bpi & I was induced on both. I am only 5'1". My son weighed 8lbs 6 oz & finally they had to do a c-section. My daughter was 7lbs 13oz & I had her.

I am the one with the injury. Weighed 10lbs & was 21 1/2" long. I was 2 weeks late. I am unsrue if my mom was induced. Will have to ask.

I had pit with both my kids. I have read in a few places that the use of labor inducing drugs and pit increases the chances of shoulder dystocia.

I went into pre-term at 32weeks, I was put on medication to stop my labor, then at 36 weeks, it started again, even though I was still on medication. So, they addded another medication to hold me off 1 more week. Well, after I was off all the medication,he didn't want to come out. They induced with poticin at 38 weeks. It was very strange. I dilated very quickly but Carson did not want to come down.

Bradley robpi was a scheduled c-section, he was breech 1 week prior to delivery, and then turned according to an internal exam by the doc. He called off the c-section. HUGE MISTAKE! I was given pet., and and epidural, after a prolonged 2ng stage labor Bradley was born 6 lbs.14 oz. My first was 5 weeks early 3lbs 14 oz. I knew something was up when my doctor yelled stop pushing, and then asked me how much my first weighed. Ya think he would have know that? He then advised me that this was as if I was having my first baby. Rude eh? I wish they would have done an ultrasound after he turned. I don't think he was in the proper postitioning for a normal delivery.

I was induced 2x a week early, the sent me home because i was not a "priority" Other women who were due that day got to push me out of my spot. They did this again. Can inducing drugs cause the baby to gain much weight when the drug is put into your body?
