well, well, well, i guess i WONT be needing a sling, walking shoes or anything else for this marathon. dr mackinnon said it would be too much strain on my arm even if it were in a sling part of the time. she said to just walk the first and last mile and a half. since i know i dont have a whole lot of problems with that distance. so maybe next year i cam do it. my surgery was only 9 months ago and she is afraid i might do damage to it this early after the surgery. oh well.

I think a sling would be a quick fix to the problem. But as we all know quick is not always best but for this time it may be needed which is not a bad thing our adaptive equipment will always be a great help. But I think you need to strengthen your arm As best you can start with shoulder shrugs to stregthen your shoulder so it won't ache so bad. I never ran 13 miles but I do go to the club and get wild for hours so my arm use to ache bad to the point where my night was focused on manning through the pain. As you might know I hated the sling what a fashion cramp so I grew out of it and will never go back to it. If you just let the sling always do the work you will never get the stregth that you possibly could get
