We see Dr Kozin, if you look up the Shriners hospital online you can get his contact info. His direct email is skozin@shrinenet.org. I've found he's very good about responding to email. He got us in with only a weeks notice for my son's first visit when he was 2 months old. Dr Kozin did my son's ACR surgery in October when he was 11 months old. He had recovered enough that he didn't need the nerve surgery, but his shoulder had become subluxed. They had us get an MRI at home and had the results sent to Kozin to review to save a trip out there. There's lots of help on getting there. Many of the airlines have programs that will help. We used Northwest's kidscare program for one of our trips. They paid for the round trip flight for my son and I. Dr. Nath's website has a link that gives lots of resources for travel assistance, and also tons of info on the injury, best site I've seen. We also received help through our local Shriners, they covered the entire cost of our return trip to Philly for the cast removal & week of theapy. There's also a couple Ronald McDonald houses close to the hospital, they only charge $10/night to stay there. We've stayed at the one in Camden, NJ for 3 of our trips. It's about 6 miles or so from the hospital, takes about 20 minutes if it's not rush hour to drive. It's a very nice place to stay. I know it seems so overwhelming to get this all in place, but it's not really that bad. My son is almost 19 months now, he's been to Philly 5 times now. We go back again in August. Good luck to you, you will be in great hands with Dr Kozin, he's excellent. So great with kids and very willing to answer any questions you have. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me, I can give you more info. meredithcalvin@yahoo.com
Best wishes

Hello. I live in So Cal and we see Dr. Stevanovic at Childrens Hospital, Los Angeles. I highly recommend him. Please do your own research regarding the various doctors. You could always see different doctors and then form your own opinion. Write down all the questions you have and ask. Ask about Ocupational Therapy for your child. Have you called your local Regional Center? They can help you with a lot of services and send therapists directly to your home.

Also, our first surgery was at 4 months. Please see at least one specialist ASAP so you do not miss a possible window of opportunity to help your child.

Good luck!
