Hi, sorry for the slow reply ~ my shoulder was dislocated in the crash that bpi me and my arm/hand paralysis was immediate and total at the time. I was diagnosed 'traction lesion' but a few weeks ago was told T1 was most probably avulsed, hence the good recovery in my arm and wrist but not intrinsic hand muscles, good luck.

I had frequent dislocations of both shoulders for 16 years, and never had any paralysis. But beware. I have had both fixed...the second one, 11 days ago when I was given a BP nerve block, which I now regret. The block hasn't worn off my hand. Fingers are useless. Last year they used general, not a block, and all went well. Anesthesiologists will tell you there is much greater risk with general, but if I could go back in time...
If I were in your shoes and had numbness with dislocations, I'd be careful of stabilization surgery that includes a BP block. Why irritate it further?
Good luck!
