Dawn,
Jamie didn't walk until well after her 1st birthday. Jamie hasn't had any surgerys as of yet. She also didn't crawl "Normally" she would crawl using her right(affected side)forarm. Jamie still has some issues with her balance and running she has a hard time with. I've found that she walks alot better when she has her theratogs on. Not as much bumping into stuff and thus throwing off her balance and causing her to fall.

Amanda (mom to JamieMarie 25 months ROBPI)

Cheyenne did't crawl (army crawl) until she was 10 months old and crawled on all fours at 12 months. She walked at 15 months.
My son (no injury, just lazy) didn't walk until he was 17 months old.
All kids are different and will do things when they want to.

My BPI son walked at about 13 months, didn't really seem delayed, but he had some use of his arm at that time. He did not require primary surgery.

But my daughter who was born 3 years after him, and not injured, didn't walk until she was about 16 months old. She is now 3 years old and does not seem delayed at all in her physical development. It just reminded me that it's hard to know what delays are due to the injury and what delays are just normal childhood development.

Good luck,

Connie
