Re: Symposium Tidbit: Why Wheelbarrelling for our kids is a
Dr. Pape said that using the foot stool with wheels to support weight at the hips and pulling himself around would be ok - I guess the angle of the body and how much of the body weight put onto the shoulder is the issue - I get the feeling she was picturing too much body weight or not controlled amount of the body weight and also how vertical is the child being held and how steady are they to avoid crashing- also what is the shoulder and arm position and is there a dislocation- so I came away with the final impression out right wheelbarrow may be hazardous but using variations like the footstool are acceptable- oh and she was not very impressed with the idea of wheelbarrow walking up the stairs just in case some of you are as creative as we were with the exercises.
