Taping of the winging scapula
I know there has been posts on this but I cant seem to find them or even figure out how to look up the history of the posts. I loved the old way of this board so much. It was so much easier to research things on it.
Anyway, I need information on how the therapists should tape the scapula. They are taping it like a christmas tree form, upside down v's starting at the spine. I would appreciate any help in this matter. I don't think they had taped an opbi scapula before.

Re: Taping of the winging scapula
On the General Board (page two on my computer about half way down) there is a thread called Taping Protcal by Nettie. I only know it is there cuz I responded to it. We have been taping my son. I think each therapist might do it different depending on what you are trying to do... which muscles you are trying to effect. And the type of tape you are using I think makes a difference. If you can't find the thread feel free to e-mail me and I will try harder to help you.
I think that the www.injurednewborn.com also has some info about taping.

I think the link is http://www.kinesiotaping.com
I don't know much else about it because we don't do this for Maia...BUT many people on the general board are taping their kids and will be able to explain it better.
On my site, I have a picture of one little girl with tape on her scapula.

good luck!
and if you find out more information - pass it back to me so I can include it on my site.
Thanks
