Disigned a strap for holding onto things. Interested?
Disigned a strap for holding onto things. Interested?
I designed a wristband with velcro straps that you can wrap around something to hold on to. I did it so that I could work out. I connect it to the handle on an arm bike. The handles of a row machine, dumbells, weight machines. It would be good for range of motion exercises as you could hook it up to the end of a stick and use your other arm to stretch and do the other exercise for maintaining ROM more effective. I am just really happy with it. It allows me to just forget about my hand and do a more effective workout, and my physical therapy sessions are more effective as well because I am able to include my whole bad arm in my exercises. Which makes me more motivated to workout. I am planning on adding a strap so that its able to hook on to things that are parallel as well as perpendicular. And the uses of this wristband are many, be creative, think about it. I am just throwing out ideas here, but, maybe brooms, shovels, umbrellas, etc. So if this is something that might interest you please just reply with a yes, no, or maybe and if you think of other uses do tell.
Thanks

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Congratulations, Brandon, this is great news.
I wish you continued development of more ideas like this for practical use. I love to read these ideas and sometimes they are useful to me too.

Sorry about the pictures. They will be up monday, that is the next time I go to physical therapy and my PT will help me take the pics. About needing one for your wrist. That is the point of this one. It is a wristband and I made it because my wrist flopped around. You will see on monday.

WOW ,
Ok this I think would start as a glove, Need to keep the hand warm to. The glove would have supports ware needed for Flop wrist, etc. The tips of the fingers would have Velcro to use for light objects. If handling a heaver object you could use a buckle and strap from palm to wrist buckle? When I drove semi , I also had to load and unload them ,basically one handed and sometimes below O with my erbs In time you will learn how to use your affected side for sure You do end up thinking one handed.Hopefully some one might consider my design. If it might help??
Best Wishes and try,
Tom
