I need major support please
Does anyone know of any forums that have to do with adoption? Grandparents rights? Rights of biological children who may need to find their adopted siblings later in life? What rights those biological children have to find their adopted sibling?
I appreciate any and all help.
Thanks,
Rachel in MT

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I googled Adoption rights and came up with the following sites.
http://topics.law.cornell.edu/wex/
http://adoption.about.com/od/adoptionrights/
I don't have any answers for you. I have a family member who was adopted and she was not given any information when she tried to get it. They actually had her records right in front of her and would not give her any information.
I don't know what they will tell you about siblings.

Is it possible for the children to get free representation from the state on this matter?
Since the children have no finances and it sounds as if their siblings may be adopted perhaps legal advice may be available to them. They must have some rights, at least I hope they do.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.

Re: I need major support please
Thank you everyone for your help.
I appreciate it so much.
I feel as if my hands are tied right now. We are able to write a letter so far and I did do that. I just feel as if it's not enough. I'm hanging in here and honestly don't know what else to do.
Thank you so much everyone.
Much appreciated.

Re: I need major support please
I have done a lot of research in adoption in college and also am a social worker in IA. I would look into if the kids have a Gaurdian Ad Litem. If they do, then that is their legal representation. If you can email me with more details about the situation...if you are comfortable with that, I might be able to help more. smith24s1@hotmail.com
