Hey Everybody!
I haven't been on the board in a long time and I just wanted to say "hey" to everybody! I'm always busy but I am going to start coming to the board again. I miss having people who understand the injury and who I can really share with and learn from!
So.....I thought I'd let you know how I've been
I am a sophomore now and school is going good for me. I'm in all honors classes so I'm pretty busy but I'm ranked 17th out of 632 students in my class so I'm happy! I run crosscountry with the school and I had a really good season! I love running and I have tons of friends in crosscountry too so it's really fun. I also play soccer with a club and I love that too. My team is really fun and we're pretty good! I also have 7 pets (haha I know that's really random, but I thought you'd want to know). I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 ferrets! As far as my injury goes I have a LOBPI. I'm pretty positive about it because I never let it get in my way. I am comfortable talking to my friends about it and a lot of times I run to them with funny stories that my arm caused .
Well that's about all I can think of that's going on with me right now, but I'm sure you didn't want to read my whole life story anyway!

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.

Britteny,
It's great to hear from you and reading all about your busy Sophmore Life. Please try to come here more often, you are a "Spirit Lifter" for me. I'd love to read a fun story about your LOBPI Arm...we all have 'em don't we? My LOBPI hand gets clumps of hair out every timne I forget or am in a hurry and use it to fasten my hair up on top of my head with a hair clip. [I've got to get my hair cut shorter!]
Continue to have fun, Brit, & come back here soon,y'hear?!
