Cincinnati Children's for surgery

Post by admin »

Does anyone have experience with Cincinnati Children's for either the initial nerve surgery at < 6 months, or follow on surgeries? Could you tell me about your experiences?

Thanks

Our daughter (age 9 at the time of surgery) had tendon lengthening surgery last November at Cinci Children's. We have nothing but praise for the team there. She's recovering really well. We just scheduled her 1 year check up. I know she's a bunch older than your child and the surgery is totally different, but the experience for us was great.

Feel free to email me at keri@wcitg.net

Our daughter had a tendon release/ muscle transfer last November. She will be 5 in January. She did really well. We were very pleased with the doctors and the treatment she recieved. She will be doing her 1 year checkup pretty soon. Allison and all the doctors there are really GREAT!!! We really have nothing but good things to say about them. If you have any questions at all - they follow up with you - they are all so wonderful.
Hope everything goes well for you.

Our daughter had the intial nerve graph surgery at 3mths with Dr. Yakaboff and has also undergone the tendon transfer & tendon release at age 2 with Dr. Melhman. She is also scheduled for another tendon tranfer for her wrist with Dr. Yakaboff on Dec.13th. She is now 3 years old and I can't praise Cincinnati enough for all their support. She is doing VERY well! They will be posting some stories on their web site within the next couple weeks about some of the famlies who have been at Cincinnati along with some pictures. You may want to check those out. You and your famliy our in our prayers. I hope you find the support and information you need to make the best decision for your daughter and your family.
