Awesome News!
I finally have clearence from my OT to try the rock wall! I am so excited!!!! Its has been there just waiting for me to try it all year and I finally have the ok. I am still going to check with my doctor when I see him on the 19th just to make sure he is ok with it too. I already have a date picked out to try me attempt at the wall. Wednesday the 26th. There is an event only for females with prizes. Maybe I can get to the top. If not oh well at least I get to try this year and then strengthen all summer for next year. This just makes my day.
Wish me luck with getting the go ahead from my doctor too. Although I am sure he probably wont have a problem with it, its great therapy.
I got a friend to say she will try it with me, she is afraid of heights and this will be her first time as well but only if I get clearence from my doctor. I so can not wait!!!
Hope every ones day is as good as mine is right now!
Hugs,
Amy 19 ROBPI from MN

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

YEAH!!!! YEAH!!!!! YEAH!!!!
Amy I am so happy for you... You have worked so hard since your surgery at being good and taking care...
Now it's reward time!
I wish I was young enough and strong enough...
I would go for it... I settle for cheering you on now.

Re: Awesome News!
Can she use the one in the elementry school? I think it would mean a lot for her to try. I know just trying the mini wall at my OT place was great for me, but I felt every muscle in my entire body, even some for the first time in my bpi arm. That has to be the best work out. I hope she gets to try!
Kath thanks for being my cheering section. I wish some one was here to try it with me. That would be pretty cool.
I am just so excited that I can finally try it!!!! Wahoo!

Amy, WOOHOO! Great News! I wish I could try... now I think for me it's not possible, though I remember reading somewhere about a guy who was paralyzed and climb a mountain.. so maybe one day I could try it with you!
You'll have to let us know how it goes, maybe take pics (get your friend to)

Re: Awesome News!
If I get off the ground I will definitely have some one take pics and post them on my website! I cant wait to get that all clear from my dr. and try the wall on April 26th! I see my dr. the 19th but there is an event on the 26th just for ladies so I figured I would try it then, I might have to try it sooner, we will have to see if I can wait the extra week. My guess is that homework will decide that.

Hey Amy!
Sorry I haven't been keeping in touch as well as I had anticipated. This semester is so rough on me. Congratulations and I'm excited to hear if you made it on the wall. I have always wanted to try that too and never have. Let me know how you do!!

And just where is this rock wall young lady??? I think I'm having chest pain just picturing it. Anyway, I wish you best of luck with your adventure Amy. I don't keep up with this site as often as I'd like, but I'm trying. I assume your mom knows what you are planning????? (just kidding!). Behave yourself! Paula

lol, the rock wall is in the wellness center at my college, dont worry the ground is padded. lol
My mom knows, I am not sure she approves but she knows. I got the final ok from my doctor yesterday at my appointment. He is very pleased with my hand. And even says I can stop wearing the little splint that I have been wearing on my hand. YEAH all good news for me yesterday!
