Paul, bpi & football
Paul, bpi & football
Hi all,
I haven't posted for a long time, but wanted to update on Paul (6yrs robpi).
This year Paul has started playing Aussie Rules football (after OK by physio) and absolutely loves it. His confidence in everything is growing everyday.
Paul was a child who quite often said "I can't do it". Now he says "I can do anything I want to". This is also his attitude to the future ie. deep and meaningfuls about what he wants to be when he grows up.
I was hesitant when he wanted to play a rough sport, but I'm really happy I said yes.
Love Julianne (Australia)

Re: Paul, bpi & football
Hi Julianne! Words I never heard from my parents "You can't do that" or "You won't be able to do that" and I thank them every day for it. I played football (American) in high school and loved every minute of it. Tell Paul to Hang Tough!!

Re: Paul, bpi & football
Hi, Julianne. Good for Paul! I don't know if I would be able to say yes to football even w/o a BPI, so I'm glad I don't have a son! I hope Nicole will overcome saying "I can't do it" too. I try to have her ask for help instead. I don't want to deny her that some things are more difficult to do (and that there are some things that she simply can't do on her own). I want her to know that it's okay to just ask for help when she has difficulty trying to do something (after she's tried it by herself) and that it's more productive than just getting frustrated and saying that she can't do something. Thanks for sharing.
