My original post was deleted before I got the chance to come back and read it.

My daughter is ROBPI and we just recently had an EMG from the looks of things all of her nerves are intact and they're firing signals and everything the neurologist at the doc's office said that the injured nerves are working with other nerves to help the arm move. She has had wonderful recovery in just 2 months. She went from not moving her arm at all to lifting her arm to about midline with her chest.(Not Overnight) She's so cute she tucks her chin down and lifts up her arm with this little face she makes and it looks like she's giving you a little salute) She can do this while in a sitting position now. She has awesome triceps and extremely weak biceps. Has anyone ever had a situation like this and (if you wouldn't mind sharing)what was the outcome. I know recovery is slow but what is to be expected.
I was also asking whether or not full recovery is possible after the nerves and muscles and everything not working or working against eachother.
Any Opinions or anything would be helpful at this point.

Reading your post it sounds exactly like what my daughter did. She had movement only in her fingers at birth, but by three months she would bring her arm up to her chest. The first time I saw her do that I cried!!!

We have been so blessed so far. She has responded great to therapy and we haven't had to have surgery as of now. I hope you have the same luck we have. Her arm still has some positioning issues we are working on, and ROM isn't quite up to par, but she can move it and that in itself is amazing when I think of how it was at birth!

You are so very lucky to have such great news. My son had a avulsion and it is so very painful to watch him limited to the use of his left arm. Recovery after surgery for him was 1 1/2 - 2 years before we seen advancement each time so I bet it won't be near that long.

Chloe sounds like she's doing GREAT! but still, I think it's important to check in at 3-4 months with a bpi specialist. UBPN has a listing of them on the homepage in the medical resources area. Keep on moving that arm Miss Chloe!

We have had good results using TES to help the weaker muscles that were innervated but too weak to work. I wonder if it is something that might help your child.
