I had an EMG in May was told I had Brachial Plexus. In July I was had surgery and had some bone shaved to unfreeze my shoulder. But,two days before surergy I was rearended at 60 mphs, I was stopped. Upon impact, I though I was going to pass out from the pain in my bpi arm. By 4pm that evening my shoulder blade felt like it had been used as a punching bag. Has anyone suffered an accident, on top of their bpi? I'm having problems with insurance wanting to cover accident, since I already has bpi. I'm in the early stages of treatment for bpi, it was already painfull. But,know I have started to take pain med. every day. I have no idea how I got this bpi in the first place. It has been nearly 7 months since I began dealing with this pain. I have been to several different doctors. But, no one seems to really know much about bp. I may have to travel out of state. I'm seeing a new neurologist in Sept. He is located @ Tulane U. in New Orleans. Hopefully I will get answers. This board has been helpful, thanks to everyone's information. I'm a mother of 2 and a wife, and this bp gives new meaning to pain.

I'm sorry that I don't have any info for being injured in an accident on top of having a brachial plexus injury. I'm curious to know more of how you came to have the injury, as you stated you didn't know how you got it.

There is a woman in Metairie...she is a nurse and a contact for brachial plexus injuries (she has a child with the injury) for Louisiana. If you are interrested in talking with her, please email me and I will send you her contact information.
