Hello! My son is 14 months old and has Erbs Plasy due to a birth injury. He had a nerve transplant done at 6 months old. He is now 14 months old and has no bicept function. His doctors are discussing doing a tendon transfer and I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this procedure and what he may go through with it. We are not sure we want to do this and thought you could give me some insight on it. Is it painful and what benefits would the outcome have? Please give help me out with this. Thank YOu.

Hi Shannon
I couldn't help but notice you posted to the Adults born with BPI. You might want to repost this same question on the General Message Board.

There are more mothers posting about their young children on the General Message Board. I am the mother of a 20 year old born with BPI, and I am sorry, but I can not help you with answers to your questions. Welcome....there is a lot of good information on this site. Angela

Hi my son had the tendon transfer at age 2 and I would do it again in a heart beat. We got a lot more range of motion and it helped his scapula get pushed in more. We really got great results.
