Does anyone know what may cause these electric, shocking pains all the way down through my fingertip. I have had quite a few of them lately and they hurt really bad, it feels as if I'm being electrocuted. I was just folding my laundry and here it happened again. My fingertips are numb. It kind of has me worried. HELP!!

You just had surgery so it may be a different reason for you, I don't know, please check with Nath's office to make sure its nothing.

I use to get them all the time. But they seemed to lessen when I began taking more Vitamin B complex... now I rarely get them since I began B-12 shots.

I use to get B-12 shots as a teenager and it seemed to quiet my nervers... Our family doctor said I needed them because of nerve damage. I had to really push my doctor to write a script for shots but she finally did. most doctors don't think b-12 shots do anything, it takes time but it works for me. our nervous system need vitamin b to be healthy.

hope they stop soon

Kath,
Thanks for the information. It just really started the last couple of days and its few and far between so I didn't think anything of it at first. I'll have to give him a call tomorrow. I will also ask about the B-12 shots. Is there a pill form of B that works do you know? Thanks again for your help.

Rachel,
I got some of those post surgery too. I also got the feeling that something was crawling on my arm when nothing was, that was even creepier. I think it was just the nerve waking up as it found new pathways after the neurolysis.

They stopped after a while, maybe around a year post surgery.

I got those after my surgery also. It took about a year for it to stop. I kept reminding myself that it was good pain and that my nerve ws getting better. E-mail Dr. Nath for assurance. He is always good about replying to questions like these.

Well, I got my reply. He told me to take it easy for a while. It's from stretching of the nerves to fast sounds like. He also said to limit my overhead movements as well. I feel like I haven't been that busy though. Maybe I have. Thanks everyone again.

I have a spot on my upper back that feels like bugs are crawling on it. I also notice that when I carry something heavey or stretch without using good body mechanics, I get a lot of tingling in my arm and leg
