So I am pregnant and I am slightly scared, as my first child suffered a severe bpi. I now have nine months to relive all the feeling from my last childbirth. This time I am in control and I am going to have a c-section. With this horrible economy and my husband taking a job with a paycut it is going to be so hard on us. Hopefully things will work out. Thanks for letting me vent.

Congratulations on being pregnant. I hope that in time you can focus on the miracle of pregnancy and birth. It would add insult to injury to involve yet another child in the incredible emotions that you have ben feeling all along. Work hard at finding a doctor that you can trust and then do whatever you can to try and relax a bit. Discuss and decide upon your options. If you decide on a definite c-section consider getting a letter as a prescription so that just in case another doctor is there or you end up with an emergency c-section and your doctor is not available, that you won't have to fight for it.

I truly wish you the best and hope that you find some peace early on.

big hugs,
francine

Congratulations and don't be scared...My c-section was a breeze compared to having a child with a life long injury. You will be happy that you had another baby...It is so fun to see your kids play together!

I know just how you feel. My son is now almost 4 months old. I was so scared when I found out I was pregnant with my second. The first time was so hard on me and of course my daughter. I didn't think that I could go through that again. Well it was a cake walk! I found a doctor who really let me help in the decision making. My due date was June 26th. As time went on I knew in my heart I wanted to take the baby early. I had dreams of him being to big even for a C-Section. My doctor let me bump up the delivery date to the 16th. Then I wanted to bump it again. Well we delivered him on the 11th weighing in at 9.2 lbs. I was so happy that my doctor let me make the call on how and when my baby was to be delivered. I feel great now and the C-Section was a strole down a country lane compared to the first time around. I can tell you not to worry but you will anyway. Best wishes to you and your family.

My first was my OBPI as well....the second was a scheduled c-section. Sounds like you already have the hardest part worked out, you have made up your mind to have a cesarian......bless you and try to enjoy your pregnancy .

Congrats on your blessing!
our prayers go out to you and your family. You will find that when you tell the Dr. about your history they will pretty much tell you to go with a c-section but in the same breath say its all up to you, and what you are comfortable with. I too was very scared after having my 2nd daughter with a bpi. We went on to have a healthy baby boy natural with a midwife at a birthing center within the hospital. we made that decision only after seeing 12 different dr.s and going through other preparations, (chiropractic, massage, emotional/spiritial/trama healing)
Whatever your decision, you have to do what is best for you and your family. You will know. Listen to your body and your heart! And you have all the space here to vent, I'm sure no one will mind. Hugs. Tonya
