I experienced that feeling last week. A friend of a friend has 6 kids under 10 yrs. She had a baby girl 4 months ago. 2 sundays ago she put the baby down for a nap when they got home from a b-day party, then a while later went to check on the baby and she was grey and cold. she screamed for the husband and he called 911. The baby had a very weak pulse but died on the way to the hospital. The poor woman had to be admitted and relatives went to care for her other kids since she could not. They had the baby cremated and the morning that they were to get the ashes back she told everyone to get ready that her baby would be home that evening and that they were going to be a family again. Broke my heart. Since that day I give thanks to God more than just a few times a day for what we do have.

I thank God every day for each and every one of my precious little ones. (I have 3 under 4) and I am so glad that they are all alive and well. I mean, Caleb's birth could have gone so much worse...he could have died. Thank God he didn't.

I am sorry this happened to your friend. How absolutely dreadful to have to bury your child. I cannot ever imagine being able to survive that. Having two miscarriages was bad enough. I also feel that in the grand scheme of things, BPI is a minor inconvenience. Please do not beat me up for that statement, it is simply how I feel and I am not intending to speak for anyone else.

Paula - I can't even fathom the pain this family is going through. Oh my God! I am so sorry for this mom. What a sad thing. It is so painful to even read about it - can't even imagine going through it.
big hugs to you,
