Facial twitch

Hi all. It's been quite a while since I have been on any forums as life has just gone on for my now almost 18yo son Paul.

I have just noticed that Paul has developed a facial twitch which seems to be getting worse on his affected side (ROBPI C5/6/7 affected). It affects his mouth/cheek mainly.

I asked him if he was aware of the twitching and he said yes, he thought it might be due to a strange feeling he has been getting in his neck which has been getting worse lately. Typical teenager doesn't say anything.

Just wondering if anyone else has experience similar issues?

Julianne

Julianne,
Things happen as we grow depending how we were injured and where injuries are. It sounds like he needs to see a BPI Specialist.. at this time with these things going on. There is a Medical Resource Link on our home page.
Please keep us updated on Paul. We all learn from one another.

Hi. I actually have that issue whenever I lift weights out to the side or above my head. Especially if I am lifting something heavy passed my shoulders. I didn't notice it till a couple years ago. It's an odd sensation. But when I get used to the weight, it doesn't occur as much. Also, my mouth muscles on the erb's side are slightly pulled down and my nose turns slightly in that direction. The doctors told me it's from the erb's palsy. Also, after a hard workout, my cheek muscles feel sort of numb and weak. I can't really explain it. But, I'm not sure if the twitching relates directly to those things but it all stems from the same source. Hope that helps.
