Recently a young mother in our area had a baby with a stretch injury. She was told the baby had a stroke and now has seizures?
I was wondering does this happen often? Or are we seeing another excuse for injury?

My daughter had a seizure when she was about 5mo old, it lasted over 30min had she was hospitalized for 3 days. She had a spinal tap, 2 EEG's and every blood test imaginable and could only list it as febrile because she was running a temp that day. I don't really think that was all it was, the fact that it lasted as long as it did and after they got it stopped with medication she started to go into another one which they were able to control. Then she was unconsious for hours when she did wake up the nurses started crying with relief, apparently it was way more serious then they let us know and they were worried she would not wake up.
The good news is she hasn't had any more and she is 3.5yrs old now. If you ever find a connection I would love to know. Sorry if this doesn't help
