Anyone know if all the dr's listed on the resource link are BPI specialist? All the Major Drs (Mayo, Susan Mackinnon, Johns Hopkins etc) are out because my insurance won't cover them. Actually, I'm not sure if it's the insurance wont pay or if it's the Dr's not agreeing to the reduced rate Molina Medicade will pay. Either way I'm down to a select few that is qualified. Time is an issue as well. Moving into the 8th month of injury. :?

I may have said this before, but Dr. Catherine Curtin at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto/Redwood City CA specializes in BPI. She did a couple surgeries for me, I recommend her highly.

I had an excellent doctor who did a successful nerve transfer of my arm. His name is Dr. Li and he practices at Wake Forest University's Baptist Hospital. I went to he Mayo as well and the whole staff respected Dr. Li highly. He is from China. He is a gifted surgeon.

I have a choice in going to the Mayo or stay with Dr. Li with my muscle transfer this coming year and I am opting to have Dr. Li do that surgery as well.

Good luck finding the right surgeon! If I can be of any help, don't hesitate to call or email.

dr li is the man. he did a nerve graft and transfer on my arm and i got alot of recovery at 11 months post injury. he also excepts medicade and other government resources for billing. from what i understand mayo wanted him on their team and he turned down the job. good luck!
