Second Opinion

Hi everyone. I'm trying to find out how to go about getting a second opinion. My accident was Aug 2010, had a nerve graph on Feb 2011 at Duke, NC. I seen improvement on shoulder and bicep. My tricep is strong and I can bend my elbow with the palm of my hand facing down. I recently went to an 8 months follow up (8 hours drive) and it went bad. First of all, the doctor confused me with another patient, checked my vision, told my there was not brain tumor anymore and left. I was like WTF? Really confused. All that took about 20 seconds. Then his intern came back and told me to wait. Doctor came back, check my arm for another 15 seconds and told me to come back with another EMG in 6 months. Eight hours drive for an app that lasted less than one minute. I don't think he even read the EMG I faxed him a week before the appointment. So I need a second opinion, just not sure how to go about it or if my insurance will cover it. So if anyone has any idea I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you so much and God bless.

I am guessing you are close to NC. I had my surgery by Dr. Li at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. He is from China and is an excellent surgeon. When I first went to the Mayo Clinic, they all knew of Dr. Li and spoke extremely highly of him. I am waiting now for a muscle transfer by him as well. He takes the time needed and gets to know his patients. I believe you would be pleased. Not sure how close you are to Winston Salem but I highly recommend him. Feel free to write or even call me with any questions. 919-812-8582
