About this talk

We think of pain as a symptom, but there are cases where the nervous system develops feedback loops and pain becomes a terrifying disease in itself. Starting with the story of a girl whose sprained wrist turned into a nightmare, Elliot Krane talks about the complex mystery of chronic pain, and reviews the facts we're just learning about how it works and how to treat it.

About Elliot Krane

At the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, Elliot Krane works on the problem of treating pain in children.

I found that interesting and I wonder what the pain difference is in pain when a torn nerves never gets replaced and others that have pain between the stretch nerves? I have both for 61 years with erbs, I believe it is a stretch nerve issue that might be help? I wonder if pain comes from miss fires between nerves when they are stretch. I wonder if when nerves do get transferred if extra nerve tissue gets added to lesson the stretch tension of chronic PAIN ? I have had to find pain relief and treatment by medication all my life no other treatment gave up at 10 years old trying. If to me pain relief and trying are a Quest that never ends but trying will give you JOY if you can just get the pain down some????? :D Does this thought help? Chris you really have a gift with information, awesome job :D
I wonder?????? :D
