- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: My name is Caitlin, I'm a 19 year old college student that was born with an OBPI/Erb's Palsy. I've been involved with the University of Michigan Brachial Plexus Clinic. I have never had surgery or any interventions because at the time of my injury, most options were considered experimental. My parents took the more conservative route advised by neurologists and I was placed in intensive PT and OT starting at 2 weeks of age, which allowed me to gain limited range of motion and function.

Teens!
I've noticed a lot of teens are starting to post on this forum, which is awesome! I was 18 before I had met any one else that had a BPI, and when I finally did, they were all younger kids. I had an unforgettable and life changing experience with these BPI kids, and it has definitely made me want to continue reaching out to other people with BPI.
I really wish I would have had someone to connect with over the years, because during many times in my life, I felt like I didn't fit in or no one understood what it was like having a BPI. And since I was 18 before this happened, I look back and wish I had someone there that would just listen to my thoughts about BPI and my injury.
So, I have an idea! I think it would be really cool if we could start our own forum on the message board for specifically teenagers/young adults. There are those forums for Awareness, Camp, OBPI, etc, and maybe we could set one up for teens? Does anyone know how we do that?!
It could be a place where we go to just talk about stuff that teens go through. It wouldn't always have to be BPI related. I really think that it could help us because we're all teens going through basically the same stuff, but we have BPIs in common too.
I'd love to hear what you all have to say about this!! I'd love to try and get it started soon. But I'd appreciate some feedback. I'm open for any suggestions/ideas/thoughts

Re: Teens!
There is a private teen board that does exist. We didn't want to make it public for obvious trolling reasons. It hasn't been utilized very well, but perhaps that will change? if you look on the home forum page, you will see the info on how to become a member of the private teen forum:
