Regaining feeling

I had a few questions for anyone who has regained tricep function without surgery. My husbands injury was on a motorcycle, and the injury was/is explained to us as he shredded two of the major nerves, but one somehow was still intact allthough he had no use of his right arm. About six months ago he started regaining shoulder and tricep movement. He still has the shoulder joint hanging, he needs surgery, but when hanging he can swing his arm and is starting to lift it a bit. The movement and some feeling has returned down to above the elbow. But in the last three months he can tell me when I stretch his thumb, pointer and middle fingers (he says its strange, he cant feel his skin by inside he feels something) and today he says he felt cold water on the tips of his fingers. Was wondering has this happened to anyone else? We are hoping this is good?!?! They said that those were the finger that could return with his tricep muscle.

i have some sensation in my fingers. not a lot, but none at all in some areas. i have no sensation in my forearm at all. sometimes i feel like my arm is wet. it feels like water trickling down my arm. i am no where near any water. it is a strange feeling. i dont know if this is a good or bad thing but i get excited that i feel something. anything. even if it is my imagination. lol

I have gained alot of sensation through my arm and also my hand and fingers. I am 5+ yrs. post accident. I think its a good thing. I can move 3 fingers now (very little but i can move them) The winter cold isn't so good though. The circulation in my arm and hand is very poor and it gets extremely cold. I don't know what to do about that. Any movement or returning sensation can be nothing but a good thing! I hope he has continued progress with it.
