So I am completely new at all this. I am 23 and was born with Erb's, but due to where I was born there was very little information on the injury. I am excited to finally get to talk to others with Erb's and if anybody would like to share their story with me that would be fantastic. I can't wait to talk to others and share my story with others who understand what I'm talking about!

WELCOME BRITTANY!!!! to our UBPN Family. There are tons of love, support , information here on these Forums...not to mention instant understanding. And yes, like Marieke said, There is no such thing as a dumb question!! Soooo ask away, we adults prefer to answer questions , or, you can begin to read the "Resources" link for Adults with OBPI aka Eb's Palsy.
Especially important is start saving your "Good" arm and shoulder from over-use Now. :)

Welcome to the family Brittany.

I've come & gone on these boards and am hoping to stay here & not drift away again. Like others have said, ask any questions you have so we can all get to know each other.

Hi Brittany, Welcome!

I'm 26. What do you want to learn? Most of us talk about how we do things "our own way" and share stories in that aspect. As a matter of fact, that's the theme for this year's UBPN Camp.

I read your profile. You mention that others don't notice but that you can "feel" it. Your situation sounds very similar to mine.

Since you seem to have a lot of movement in your arm I would suggest to remember is to stretch and exercise both your arm and rest of your body to keep your mobility at it's highest. When you use your arm less you are likely to have more pain in the long run. I'm a huge fan of swimming. It's the only sport I enjoy and can actually do.

I recently started going to behavioral and physical therapy and am really enjoying it. She game me a foam roller to use to stretch (something like this http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1260 ... 921x00003a).
