Just a few minutes ago, Peyton raised both arms up, all the way up, like it was nothing, I don't even think he arched his back to raise his left arm!!! I am soooooooooooo excited!!!! He could lift his left arm before but he had to throw it up there, today he raised it just like the other one!!!! I am giddy!! Will it stay like this? Anyone after mod quad, does it stay like this or does it start getting tight again?

YAY PEYTON!!!!!! Glad to hear it Marnie. I wish I could say what will happen with this as Ben hasn't gained much since Mod Quad. For all your sakes, I hope he keeps doing so well.

Mod Quad was a miracle for Kelsey too. She got her arm wayyyyy up there (couldn't before). She can still raise her arm wayyyy up there!

Marnie - this is great news!!!

Maia had good range after her mod quad too - it was miraculous. Then she lost it when her arm became dislocated - then she had the caps surgery and her range was great again and she has since lost it.... we've learned to ride the rollercoaster!

I guess it's important to keep an open mind.

Yeah for Peyton!! Logan had a "new arm" after about 12 weeks after the Mod Quad and her ROM has stayed the same since. That was 2 1/2 years ago! She has almost full ROM and can put her hand behind her head and reach way up now. The trade off is now she can't put her hand on her hip or behind her back which has its own limitations.

I know exactly how you feel. Andrew is about 3 1/2 months post mod quad and he also can raise his arm above his head. He couldn't do it before. He raises it often while he is playing or whatever. We too are hoping that it is something he will be able to keep.

That's wonderful news!!! We all know how exciting it is to see new movement. It make you want to climb to the highest mountain and tell the world!!! The day we took off our daughter's mod quad splint she was able to lift her arm higher than ever. She is actively using it at 110 degrees flexion today (6 months post mod quad). Keep up the good work Peyton!!!
