I believe Kline is, but he's retiring soon and Tiel moved to U of Alabama

Dr. Klien is retired. I tried to track him down last year (June '08) and he was already gone. Not sure about Dr. Teil? I do know Dr. Spinner worked under Dr. Klien and he is @ the Mayo Clinic with Dr. Bishop and Shin. Don't know if that helps. Best of luck!

My neurosurgeon Dr. Theodore @ Barrow's here in Phx. referred me to Dr. Teil unfortunately there was nothing he could do for me because of my avulsed nerve roots. This was about a year ago and said he was working in Mississippi at the time.

Leah - nothing he could do regarding the pain or nothing he could do at all? Nerve root avulsion wouldn't necessarily disqualify you as a potential candidate for neurotization (nerve transfer). Of course I'm not a neurosurgeon, but I was curious about your diagnosis.

Me too! Dr Teil is a very amicable and generous doctor and has been working under one of the Original TBPI innovators, Dr. David Kline, for years. I saw them both in New Orleans, and he conceded that he could not do the work that the Mayo could and recommended I go there (he knows the surgeons there). He still ha choices for me, just not as many as the Mayo Team offered. I'm curious why he cou8ld do "nothing". Wish you luck & happiness!
