i got my disability awarded yesterday!!!! there is hope out there just wanted everyone to know. and thanx to everyone that helped me along the way on this long drawn out process. so anyone going through this if i can help in any way hit me up. i'm so happy and relieved. now i can get married. and can catch up on bills. woo hoo!!!!

i applied nov. 07

well i just kept tellin my dr. about the pain and kept that going on record. and i told the dr. bout my depression. even if you don't think your depressed cause i didn't think i was but they put me on a light dose of zoloft and i did feel a bit better. and keep a record of everything. and i got a pro bono lawyer and sent everything i could find online about this affliction. the lawyer was jus eyecandy cause i did most the work but it took alot of homework on my part.

I just came across this site. I have a daughter that has BPI since birth in 99, when I filed for disability I was denied. I am going thru the process again. Does any one know if they look from the time the first application was submitted.

Congratulations! Did you have to get an attorney?
Did you get it the first time you submitted the paper work? What type of documentation did you get (i.e. all med records etc.)? How long did the whole process take?

I am going to start this process, any help would be much appreciated.

i applied right after i got out of hosp. i got denied. then i got a lawyer. i did endless reasearch online and sent my lawyer everything i could find plus got every dr. i saw to write a letter of concern and send it to my lawyer along with my records. my lawyer was just eye candy i did most the work. probably could have got it without lawyer but got one just to be safe. tell your dr. your depressed if you are or not. good to have that in your records just for kicks. document your pain and talk about the pain to your dr. endlessly. it took alot of suffering and stress for my family and i alike but that's the breaks. appeal took 2 years to the date of my wreck. i wrecked out aug. 27 2007 and get my first payment aug. 27 2009 (this coming month) i get my first payment. hope this helps. i would get a pro boneo lawyer and send everything about this affliction you can find.
