United Brachial Plexus Network, Inc.

Recently I went to my therapist, who told me that I had an overgrown scapula which would need to have a surgery. She said I could have this at any time, but it wouldn't be necessary until i started having pain in my injured shoulder. Not two days later I started having severe pain in my shoulder. Other than Dr. Nath, I don't know of any good surgeons. It was suggested that we should go to MAYO, but I don't know what other options there are. If anyone has heard of a good surgeon in the Midwest, it would be really great if they could help me contact them.

At the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, they have a really good brachial plexus team there that you might contact.

I have yet to find a doctor in the midwest that knows BPI.
I am from Zion about 10 miles south of the WI border and even children's in Milwaukee did not impress me !!

I am not sure where exactly Zion, IL is... but in addition to The BPI clinic at University of Michigan Ann Arbor...if you are closer to Indiana then you might check out -

Dr. Alexander Mih at the Indiana Hand Clinic (in Indianapolis) works with the injury as well. He is an excellent doctor with great credentials. He did my surgery (although I had a RTBPI)... but he mainly works with children at Riley Hospital from what I have heard.

My son had his surgery with Dr Kozin in Philly. He's great!! I strongly recommend the trip. We also got opinions from the clinic at U of Michigan, it's only an hour from my house, so seemed like a great option. We were not at all impressed with their services and no longer go there.

I would recommend seeing the team at Mayo. We are from WI too and that is where Dustin ended up. There is a BP dr at Froedart in Milwaukee. We went there for therapy but did not see the dr so I don't know much about him other than that he is there.

Rick had his surgery last month with Dr. Yang at University of Michigan. I would highly recommend her, I was very impressed with her credentials and they did a great job with Rick's surgery. In addition, the rapport they develop with their patients is amazing. In the many visits and phone calls we have made to them since Rick's accident, they have never made us feel rushed or that they were too busy for us. They have been patient, understanding, and informative.
