Well as I had feared Thomas needs Mod Quad, Pec release and a possible nerve transfer for his shoulder also some tendon transfers. He has never gained any shoulder back from primary. So keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I am scared already but I know if I don't go through with it he will never have any shoulder. Has anyone went in with out shoulder and how much did they get after surgery? Thanks Carron

Carron - you are just post-op yourself. Please don't get yourself sick with worry. We will keep on praying for all of you.

Thanks Francine I will try not to worry but it is so much to handle. I feel like crying, screaming, punching the wall if I could.I went back for my check up my biopsy had 3 precancerous lesions. So I am so glad I have that behind me I am going back in June to Have a Mammo done I found a small lump and he is going to check it since my mother has breast cancer. I don't know if I can keep it together.

carron: good thoughts about your health issues (and his too!) katie went back from primary with very little of anything and has made astounding leaps and bounds. Not that her arm or function is NORMAL but it looks better and better. It was explained to us that she had all this scar tissue under her armpit area and similar to a roadblock it wasn't letting any of the new growth or function continue past that point. Hope this helps and get some rest. Mod was a breeze to us after primary. Caps was a little different however.

Hi carron Just wanted you to know that my daughter Mehgan will be having surgery at TCH also Aug 13, this is her first surgery ever and I'm so nervous. She's only 2 acts 20 and always asks when we go to the doctor if they are going to fix her arm. She understands more than I realize. I just say a prayer for her each night and now in my heart this is the right thing for her so hopefully I'll get to meet you at TCH. Alice & Mehgan

My daughther (Sydney) is scheduled for Mod Quad on August 5th, but turns out that date isn't going to work for us because I won't have anyone to stay with my 8 year old son at that time so we're going to try to reschedule for later that week or possibly the next week. I know how you feel!! I'm excited that there is something that can be done for her because I believe she's improved all she can on her own and with therapy, but the thought of my baby having surgery just scares me to death. Granted she's 3 1/2 years old, but I'm just very sad and freaked out by the whole thing. Anyway, I hope all goes well for you and Thomas and who knows maybe I'll see you in Houston!
