MRI

I live in NY and I am trying to find the right place for my two year-old son to have his MRI so that I can have it sent to his doctor in Boston. I was going to have it done at my community hospital but the radiologist advised that he has done similiar ones in the past and they never come out clear enough for the specialists. Has anyone taken their child for a MRI in the NYC area? I am trying to avoid another trip to BCH unless I absolutely have to. Thanks, Melissa

is there a children's hospital there?

Also - what are you doing the MRI for? Just curious because when Maia went to asses her shoulder the MRI showed left shoulder girdle atrophy and the CT scan showed posterior dislocation. So if we didn't get the CT scan we would have never had the "scientific" proof of her dislocation.

Also - Maia's doc made us aware that what you will or won't see on a scan is defined by the positioning of the arm. So if you are doing this scan to give information to a particular specialist - ask the specialist to tell you exactly how the arm should be positioned to get the best possible picture.

hope this helps,
francine

Thanks Francine. This was the first time I ever posted
so I am sorry I did not give a lot of information.
Our doctor in Boston is recommending mod quad for Justin. He has not had any prior surgery. There is a brand new children's hospital in New York that is very well known. We are fortunate to have a friend who works there and we are going to try and do the MRI there and then have it sent to Boston. thanks, Melissa
