Hello everyone!

I am not new to the board, but have not posted in a long while...

Since last August, I have been working on starting a non-profit organization to (hopefully) accomplish two goals:
1. Raise awareness and provide information about OBPIs
2. Raise money for the BP team at the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital where our daughter had surgery.

Well, our website finally went live last week...

www.twolittlemonkeys.org

If you get a chance, please check it out and let me know what you think. I am completely open to any questions, comments, complaints, suggestions, etc you may have. Feel free to respond to this post or email me directly.

As you will read in the About Us section, our daughter Allison suffered a brachial plexus injury to her right arm at birth. She has had one surgery to date - an arthroscopic ACR with Dr. Kozin in May of 2007. She was nine months old at the time, their youngest child to undergo this procedure, but because her glenohumeral joint was in such rapid deterioration something had to be done.

Ally is doing wonderfully today. We still have major work to do with her to help her reach more of her full-potential, but considering where she was pre-surgery, we could not be happier.

Anyway, that's a very brief version of our story...

Thank you all for reading and I hope that you enjoy looking at our website.

Sincerely,

Andrea

Andrea,

The site is wonderful!!! And, I love those adorable tee shirts you're selling! How cool is it that you're donating the proceeds to the Shriners BPI team???

I'm going to send a link to my address list. I also think the tee shirts are a very cool, fun way to spread awareness about OBPI. The more people who become educated about this injury, the less it will occur!!!

Thanks for doing this for our community!!!

Just ordered one for Amber. Very cute shirts, and great job on putting the site together. Way better than I could have ever managed to put together on a website. I'm envious of those who can manage a computer that well!

Way to go!

So Cute!! I just ordered one for me and one for Olivia. It's funny because I have 2 children and I have always called Olivia my little monkey because she has is such a climber, and gets into everything...even moreso since having her surgery with Dr. Kozin in October! What a wonderful idea you had to honor such a wonderful place like Shriners!

Bumping up for those who haven't seen this great site!

Aria loves wearing her shirt!!! Everyone always wants to know where we got it, and it really gives me a chance to educate another family about this PREVENTABLE injury!!! :)

Yes! I love the site and I'm ordering shirts for Cole and myself. His might be a little big...but it will be just right.

On a side note....I was wondering where you found the stats. The "out of those 40% only 10-15% need surgical intervention." (If I read it right.)

Cole is 9 1/2 now. No surgeries yet. It just gives me hope that more recovery with us working is still a possibility. :-)
