One handed Ruler?

Anyone know what my daughter can use to keep a ruler in place. She has a ROBPI and this is an issue we just encountered in Grade 3.

If you can find a ruler that is really wide, that was the most helpful for me. I always struggled with rulers too. Most of the time I would use my notebook if I ust needed a straight line. Or my friends/teachers would help me. I ust took a college drawing class and one of the assignments I needed a ruler for the entire drawing, I ended up having to use a legal pad because it is really wide so I can rest my whole arm on it to keep it still. Even then it is still hard but it helped.

What about applying dycem to the back of a flat ruler?
I've inserted a link to a store where you can buy adhesive strips of dycem. That should give your daughter's ruler a much better surface grip - even if she can't press down on it.
A pack of three 16 x 1 1/8 inch self-adhesive strips costs about $7.00

Maia uses a flat plastic ruler that is attached to her clipboard.

Look for the ones with the cork backing they sell them at office depot or staples thats what my son used Mare

Mica, your a smart one! Wonder why I didnt think of that while struggeling with my drawings. Thanks for the idea! I think that would be the way to go.
I have had the cork backed rulers and though they are better than regular ones, they could be better and I think Mica's idea to attach dycem is a great idea!

Dycem was the first thing came to my mind.
Now...how are y'all dealing with cold hands? It has become very, very painful for me.

fleece mittens work well. That or massageing it seems to help too.

There are small "warmer" thingy-s that you can put inside your mittens or gloves. Look at REI,Cabella's or outdoors stores..I saw them at one of those stores.
