United Brachial Plexus Network, Inc.

My son, who was 5 at the time, got west nile and the virus damaged his brachial plexus to the piont of no movement at all in his right arm. It took doctors at Cook Children's in Fort Worth four week in the hospital to establish this diagnosis. It has since been almost nine months and I have been less than impressed with the treatment. I'm not sure where to begin to look for a second opinion. Any advice? Dr Nath's name comes up A LOT! My son's Doctors seems to think Drake is not a surgical case and Dr Nath seems to treat most cases with surgery.
Any help!!
I also am looking for more therapy ideas we can do at home because his therapist hasn't helped much in that department eighter.

Hi I had not been on here in a while and missed your post. I really don't know their full situation, but I talk from time to time with a family here in Cincinnati. Their son goes to therapy at the same time as my daughter. They too had their son come down with a viral infection, still not sure what it was but it wiped out his bp too! They are being seen at the brachail plexus clinic here at cincinnati childrens. They seen Dr. Yakuboff and Dr. Foad. The mother said they may be able to do something surgical. Like I said, not sure what their exact situation is, but I would at least maybe call to see if they can offer something. Good luck. Lots of hugs and prayers!
