nerve surgery
nerve surgery
Hi every one.
My baby six months old is scheduled for nerve surgery in the end of January in Boston with Dr. Peter Waters,
We are very for the surgery itself plus the aftermaths.
how long dose usually take the surgery?
For how should we expect to stay in the hospital post operation?
I'm glad I found this board. I'm sure I'll have many more questions.

Re: nerve surgery
When my son had primary 8 years ago, it took them 10 hours. However, upon opening him up they found his nerves were much smaller than most children his age/size. They had a rough time. After my son was back to his own self. Ready to play, no holding him back. REMEMBER that every child is different so your results may be different, but that was our experience. It mad it easier for us when deciding on doing the second surgery, that is for sure !!! GAyle mom of Brandon 8 1/2 ROBPI !
Re: nerve surgery
My son had surgery on December 6 in Cincinnati, and it took 7 1/2 hours, however we only stayed in the hospital 3 days. We have not seen any movement however the healing time is the waiting game. Hope this help
Re: nerve surgery
Our son had primary surgery a little over a year ago. The surgery itself took about 7 hours and he was only in the hospital one night. He was back to his usual self the next day. You will be surprised at how quickly the little ones recover. However, be prepared for a long wait to see the results of the surgery. It took many months to see the first glimpse of improvement.
It is good to hear from other parents and their experiences. However, I would recommend asking Dr. Waters these questions, as things can vary so much from one child to another.
Best of luck with the surgery...
