Hi everyone~
I was wondering how many people live in illinois and where?
I am in Northern Illinois. Woodstock, Illinois.
Injured in 1987 and I was 18 years old. Motorcycle accident with Cliff Spencer. He did not survive the accident. He lived for one month and died on his 18th b-day.
8 surgeries (another scheduled in Jan.) in Rochester, MN.
Recovering from surgery right now.
Who else is out there in Illinois?
Kath in Chicago

I went in 2 weeks ago for EMG #2 the tester says there is damage to the c5,6 but the portion where she stuck the needles in my neck (forget what that's called) showed they are not avulsed. The other test where they shocked the dog crap out of me in the neck and measured the current (I think), showed that it traveled slow however it all got to the points she measured. This test results she stated was ten fold from initial EMG. I have a second MRI scheduled for Dec 6th. I am currently being seen at the Naval Hospital but there is no one here who specializes in BPI's so they want to give it until January. If I show no signs of recovery there is talk to send me to some place in Milwaukee. I am trying to convince them to send my test results and all info to Mayo for review.

Just don't wait too long because the doctors at Mayo like to do nerve grafts before 6 months post injury! I would push for an evaluation by a TBPI doctor! Sue (PS. I'm not from IL, I'm from PA and my dgt had surgery at Mayo.)

I am Ray from Carpentersville, Illinois, near the Fox river.. My motocross days are long gone, but I recieved my TBPI Jan. '87 with my old motocross buddy in a car he just got. I was thrown thru the t-top James Bond style and was in a coma for 33 days. Fast forward to now where I underwent gracilis nerve transplant surgery years later. I keep doing the exercises they showed me at the Mayo, but my gain is not much more than I had right after the surgery. I plan to keep at it and will incorporate using my Bowflex after blowing the dust off it. I go back to Mayo Dec 20th and hope to have some progress in my recovery. If there's any way I can help anybody please give a shout.
