Question about the message board

I was wondering if someone could clarify something for me.Ever since I started visiting this board (couple of months ago) I have noticed randomly that at times there are answers to posts that are there and then later they're gone. At first I thought it was my computer or had something to do with being logged in or not. But then I started to get the hang of it. It seems that for some reason certain posts are controversial. I'm not getting a good feel for what is ok and what is not. I've looked over the rules and think I understand them. I can understand why some disrespectful posts have been removed, but not others. I understand that this board is moderated by volunteers but I can't help wondering if maybe it's not completely unbiased - there seems to be an undercurrent going on. After a recent post I'm beginning to wonder if I'm only getting information that the moderators want me to get. While I completely understand the perils and pitfalls of libel and slander, I am also eager to hear the truth of certain things - done respectfully. Let's face it, it's impossible to be perfect but are posts being removed because they're from people you don't like?
It's just a feeling I'm getting. I do not intend to offend, but I guess if this post is removed, I'll have the answer to the above questions.

It is a valid question and one that is asked now and then.

The message board moderators do their best to enforce the policy and obviously, interpretation must come into play.

Generally speaking, if a post is by a guest and not someone known and logged in, it will bear closer scrutiny and will more easily be deleted. We have had problems in the past with guest posters causing problems and if their email cannot be verified as is the case with a 'guest', then their posts are usually deleted. Especially if they are controversial. Several 'guest' posts have been deleted in the past couple of days for these reasons.

If you want answers to questions that might cause trouble if posted publicly, ask people to email you directly with their opinions when you post a question.
