Looking for a doctor in NY
Looking for a doctor in NY
I'm a 43 year old male and I've been diagnosed with brachial plexopathy and/or brachial neuritis, I had two incidents (1987 and 1997) that left me with pain, weakness, and numbness in my right arm, hand, and shoulder. Both incidents were not accident related, they simply started with pain in my neck that increased and widened rapidly over the course of several hours. After a couple of years, the pain went away, but some weakness and numbness remained. The pain, numbness, and stiffness is gradually starting to return and I'd like to see a doctor in NY. This website lists three doctors in Manhattan, NY (Andrew Price, Rick Abbott, and Scott Wolfe). Does anyone know anything about them, or have any other recommendations of someone I should see?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

We use Dr. Price and he is amazing! He did surgery on my daughter last year and we see him on a regular basis along with his collegue Dr. Grossman who travels monthly from Miami.
Re: Looking for a doctor in NY
Hi there. Our son is due to go for surgery with Dr. Price and Grossman (they're a team) in September. They work out of NYU's Hospital for Joint Diseases.
We've also heard about a Dr. Nath, but he's based in Texas, but does have clinics in the NY/NJ/PA areas. He's got a website, but not sure of it off hand.
We're also going to see Dr. Waters in Boston.
If we go through with the surgery, I can give you feedback if you'd like.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

As far as I know all of the doctors you mentioned treat adults. I live in NY and a few years ago saw Dr. Abbott the bpi clinic at Beth Israel has closed and he is at Monitfore Hospital.
Dr. Price, Dr. Wolf and Dr.Nath treat adults.
If you feel you want a NY doctors Price, Wolf all work out of New York. Dr. Nath you will have to see at his clinics and then if surgery is required go to Texas.
I hope this helps.
Dr. Waters specializes in pediatrics
