I just called to make our annual appointment in at Seattle Children's and they said they are too full since Texas closed it's BPI clinic. I asked why they closed, and was told the head of the department retired. Was that Dr. Nath?

no, no, no....the clinic did close but Dr. Nath has his own practice now and so does Dr. Shenaq. I don't know dr. Nath's number, but i'm sure someone does. Dr. Shenaq's new number is 713-441-5310, 6550 Fannin St., Smith Tower, Suite 1021, Houston, TX 77030. Hope that helps.

I took my son to The Texas Childrens Hospital in Nov. to see Dr. Swabe in the Brachial Plexus Clinic. They didn't say anything about closing. But, I was not happy with the visit. I was told that my sons arm is fully recovered and he didn't ever need therapy anymore. I told the doctor that my son has experienced pain while sleeping ever since the therapy stopped 2 weeks before the appointment in Houston. The doctor asked well did he fall and injure his arm? It must be a new injury but its not the brachial plexus. I think I am going to find another doctor outside of Texas. Even though I live in Texas.

Good luck

Actually, Sarahmae, the head of the department died, not retired. Dr. Rita Lee died in September of last year and in November Dr. John Laurent also died.

Texas Children's has been difficult since then and both Dr. Nath and Dr. Shenaq have left.

See the posts for their info, you really don't need to leave Texas if you don't want to.
